Deer Elementary Scholarship recipients

The $500 scholarship is given each year to sixth grade students that have met the criteria set forth from the founding of it in the year 2006 by former principal Junior Edgmon. It is made possible by the Deer Elementary Staff and other donations. Four $500 scholarships were awarded; two $500 scholarships from the staff, given to Easton Cantrell and River White. One $500 scholarship is made possible by Ted Jones in honor of his father Brasel Jones, given to Lily Stone. Mr. Jones taught at Deer School for thirty plus years. One $500 scholarship was made possible by a new donation beginning this year. The Frank Breedlove family wanted to honor him by donating in his name. Mr. Breedlove was a former student an avid supporter of the Deer School. He served on the Deer/Mt. Judea School Board and tried hard to not miss any Deer basketballs games. His granddaughter Charlee Breedlove met all the criteria for the scholarship and was awarded the first one to be given in his honor.
