Anyone born after 1985 and of legal age to operate a motorboat or sailboat must have successfully completed an approved AGFC Boater Education Course and carry proof while operating a motorboat or sailboat on Arkansas water. The course teaches the fundamentals of safe boating necessary to reduce loss of life, personal injury and property damage, while increasing the boating enjoyment for outdoor enthusiasts. Registration required. The minimum six-hour course includes: • Arkansas boating law • Boat classification • Registration and trailering • Personal flotation devices (life jackets) • Navigation aids • Rules of the road • Maintenance • Courtesy • Boating accidents and more

The course will be next offered at North Arkansas College, 1515 Pioneer Drive, Harrison, (870-861-2432) on Saturday, June 8, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
