Roy Leon Watson, 78, of Springdale, died Monday, July 22 (2019). Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with interment at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 29, 1940, to George Washington and Ivory Belle Williams Watson in the Shiloh Community of Newton Countys. Roy married Mary Reba Johnson on April 12, 1963, at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where Roy was a longtime active member and trustee. He was also a member of the Gideons, and served in the Arkansas National Guard.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clell, and a sister, Retha.
Roy is survived by his wife, Mary Reba; two children, Penny Michelle Bradley and Kirk Leon Watson; a brother, Troy Watson; a sister, Bonnie Villines; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
