Roy Phillips, 93, of Jasper

Roy Phillips, age 93, passed away at the Phillip's family farm at Jasper, Arkansas. May 9 (2019). Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14 (2019), at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, Arkansas, with Wade Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery in Parthenon, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 13 (2019), at the funeral home.

He was born August 19, 1925, the son of Ernie and Bethel Phillips.

Roy graduated from Jasper High School in 1948, attended Arkansas Tech and the University of Missouri. Kansas City. In 1950, he married the love of his life Estle Baucom. Roy owned and operated Amco Oil Service Stations in Overland Park, Kansas, for 50 years, retiring at age 81. He was one of the first dealers in the Kansas City area to sell a million gallons of gas and belonged to the Elite Million Gallon Club. He and Estle retired to the Phillip's farm in 2008.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; three brother's, Curtis, Edward, and Norman; two sister's Veradean Cudd and Faye Lepel.

Survivors include Estle, his wife of 68 years; daughter, Deborah Taliaferro, of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Larry Alan Phillips, of Jasper, Arkansas; two grandsons, Jaiton Phillips, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tanner Taliaferro, of Nashville, Tennessee.; one granddaughter, Nichelle Phillips, of Jasper, Arkansas; one great-grandson, Charlee; many nieces, nephews and friends, and a very special couple, Jerry and Doris Brasel.

Pallbearers are Henry Phillips, Kirby Carlton, Kendahl Sloan, Steve Fitzpatrick, Cody Smith, and Cole Fitzpatrick, with honorary pallbearers being Shawn Stratton, Jerry Brasel and Phil Brasel.
