Niva Faught, 86, of Deer, died at the Newton County Nursing Home on Tuesday, Feb. 4 (2020). An open visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 6, until 5 p.m., at Holt Memorial Chaple in Harrison, followed by a private family visitation from 5-6 p.m. Graveside service is at the Deer Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. Joe Sain will officiate. Arrangements by Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison.

The daughter of the late Joe and Millie (Reddell) Sain was born in Mt. Judea on Aug. 26, 1933. Niva was a lifelong member of the Jehovah’s Witness. She retired after many years of working as a cook for the Deer School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlis Faught and five brothers, Frank, James H., William Devoe, Glover and Erman Sain.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Faught and Ronnie Faught; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Travis Faught, Landyn Faught, Shea Bailey, Johnny Chalmers, Brad Chalmers, and Rudy Chalmers.

Honorary pallbearers include the Deer congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.
