Karl W. Kelley, 77, of Harrison, died at home, Friday, Jan. 22 (2021). A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, with Pastor Byron Cothran officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel. The visitation room will be open after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A son of the late Thurman and Imogene Reynolds Kelley was born, at Parthenon, Feb. 20, 1943.  He was a graduate of Jasper High School, where he played basketball on the team going to state tournament to win their first ever state championship title in 1960.  He was a member of Northvale Baptist Church, served with the Arkansas National Guard and was a master electrician. He was elected Newton County JP and served on the Newton County Quorum Court.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Robert Kelley.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy, of the home; a niece Tiffany Kelley; a sister-in-law, Patricia Kelley; and a host of extended family and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Courtaney Mullins, Kasen Mullins, Robbie Dodson, Rodney Pillow, Bobby Lowell, Gary Daniels and Mark Billings.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cam Mullins, Tim Mullins, Jim Justice, Wayne Wilson, Helen Reynolds, Marie Mayes, Jasper School class mates, and Northvale Baptist Church.
