John Henry Norton, 98, of Deer, died at Twin Lakes Therapy and Living in Flippin, Thursday, Oct.10 (2019). Funeral was at Deer Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15. Stanley Taylor and Bill Counts officiated. Burial was at Hickory Grove Cemetery at Nail under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.

The son of the late Hiram and Mattie (Copeland) Norton was born at Walnut, Sept. 13, 1921. He was a US Army Air Corp Veteran. He also worked at RCA Rubber Company. John had moved to Deer 11 years ago from Pulaski, Tennessee. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a lifetime member of Al Menah Shriners and a member of American Legion Post 60.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn Carroll Norton; two brothers, Avery Norton and Harold Norton and his sister, Ruby (Norton) Watson.

John is survived by his wife, Prudence (Benegar) Norton and other relatives.

Pallbearers were Shawn Burdine, Joe Cowell, Gary Spradley, Kevin Spradley, Jerry Laughter and Rodger Watson.
