Doug Shaddox, 65, of Stringtown

Douglas “Dougie” Bruce Shaddox, 65, of Stringtown, Arkansas, passed away Feb. 4, (2019). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Brent Fisk officiating. Burial will follow at Jasper Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The son of Guy Shaddox, Sr., and Minnie (Jones) Shaddox was born June 2, 1953 at Pruitt, Arkansas.

Doug was a lifelong resident of Newton County and a farmer. He was a graduate of Jasper High School in 1970 where he was the Class Salutatorian. He also attended the University of Arkansas. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.

Doug LOVED animals of all kinds. He also loved nature and anything outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling. He loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and a brother, Joe Shaddox.

Doug is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Shaddox Dingess and husband Laramie and Diamond Shaddox Phillips and husband Josh; his brother, Guy Shaddoxx, Jr., four grandchildren, Laramie, Lyric, Lennox and Lady; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and countless friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Pallbearers are Ryan Watson, Jerry Jones, Santi Shaddoxx, Michael Thomas, Jimmy Jones, Pete Houston, Jaxon Ramsey, Remington Watson and Abril Shaddoxx.

Honorary pallbearers are his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other friends in the community.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ozark Humane Society Shelter, 5147 Rock Springs Road, Harrison, AR, 72601.
