Charlene Smith, 84, of Batavia, died at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 16 (2019). Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18 (2019) at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Celebration of life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at Capps Full Gospel Church with Eddie Reed officiating. Burial will be at Sanders Cemetery in Batavia under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home.

She was born in Red Rock, Newton County, on April 25, 1935, to the late Solmon and Goldie Shattwell. She attended Capps Full Gospel Church. She was married for 65 years to Clinton Smith.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, J.R. Shattwell, Bobby Lee Shatwell, and George Shattwell and two sisters, Arvilla Smith and Sue King.
She is survived by her husband, Clinton Smith; her daughter, Janet Ricketts; her son, Roger Smith and her sisters, Veneta Ellis, Janet Normandin and Geraldine Smith and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ricketts, J.W. Smith, Randy Smith, Austin Nowman, Clayton Shattwell, and Dillon Nichols.
