C. L. "Charlie" Poynter, 93, of Dover, died at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Friday, Jan. 22 (2021). Funeral arrangements by Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison are pending. Burial will be in McFadden Cemetery at Dover.

He was born at Dover, to the late James Yancy "J.Y." and Grace Lano Kirksey Poynter, Aug. 20, 1927.   He married Miss Bette Wells and was a successful banker and oil and gas man. He was a life long member and former secretary/treasurer of the Dover United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Charles Kirksey "C. K." Poynter; and all of his brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Yancy Poynter and Tim Poynter, both of Dover; two daughters, Connie Hawkins, of Dover and Cathy Davis, of Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
