Ava Hickman, 94, of Harrison, died Friday, March 29 (2019). Funeral is 2 p.m., Thursday, April 4, at Roller-Christenson Funeral Home in Harrison.
She was born in Newton County on Feb. 1, 1925. She married Horton Hickman in 1944. He died in 2003. She had worked for Levi Strauss Co. in Harrison for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, attending Northside for the majority of her adult life.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Floy Reddell; and a great-grandson, Anthem Hickman.
Survivors include her son, Donald Joe Hickman, of Harrison; her siblings, Ruth and Gene Pratt, of Harrison, Velma Lee Harris, of Bellefonte and Eoudella Young, of Cabot and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are the Golden Years Class.
