An unidentified minor was killed in a crash on state Highway 7, south of Dover in Pope County, on Aug. 26, according to a state police report.

The child was a passenger in a 2007 Hyundai. At about 10:24 p.m., the car had turned south onto the highway from a driveway. A 2015 Freightliner pulled out in front of the car headed north. The car's driver, apparently realized this. He veered to his left in attempt to avoid the truck, but was unable to. The car struck the truck in the left front with the left front of his vehicle. Impact was in the center turn lane of state Highway 7, according to the report filed by Cpl. Brian Johnson, of Troop J.

The car's driver, Thomas Justice, 32, of Dardanelle, and a passenger, Kacey King, 28, of Dardanelle, were reportedly injured and were taken to UAMS hospital/St. Mary's Hospital.

Weather condition was clear and the road condition was dry, the report noted.
