Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10 - Friends of the Library Red Hot August Book Sale.
Saturday, Aug. 10 - Newtonian Book Club at 2 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 12 - Friends of the Library meeting at 12 p.m.
Mondays at 3 p.m. - Movie Monday.
Wednesdays at 3:34 p.m. - Therapeutic Yoga.
Second and fourth Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. - Watercolor class.
Therapeutic Yoga with April Helen is held on Wednesdays at 3:45 p.m. All skill levels and bodies welcome. Dress comfortably. No props needed. Bring your yoga mat and water bottle if you have them.
The Friends of the library is having a used book sale. Stop by for a great deal on used books and a free ice cream treat, $3 for a grocery bag full of books and $1 for a plastic bag full of books.
Saturday Storytellers Writers Group forming
If you or someone you know is interested in writing join this group and see if it is for you. The first writers' group meeting on Saturday, aug. 3, at 10 a.m., will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss how the group will be organized and to discuss what participants hope to accomplish by being a part of this group.
Literature of the Ozarks with Dr. Phillip Howerton will be Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m.
Dr. Howerton, professor of English at Missouri State University of West Plains, Missouri, and author of "The Literature of the Ozarks: An anthology," will present a survey of two centuries of Ozarks literary history. The fiction, non-fiction, poetry
And drama presented in this book tackles the assumptions about backwoods ignorance, debunks the pastoral myth, expands on the meaning of wilderness and positions the Ozarks as a crossroads of human experience with meaningful ties to national literary movements. Copies of Howerton's book will be available for purchase.
