In a meeting held Aug. 6 at Deer School, the Deer/Mt. Judea Board of Education accepted the resignation of Deer School principal and boys basketball coach Elvis Middleton. The board authorized Superintendent Dr. Andrew Curry to advertise the vacant principal's position. According to the meeting minutes, no interim principal was named.
The board also accepted resignations from school district nurse Lori Terry, district administrative assistant Miranda Dye and cafeteria employee Lisa Smith.
The board filled the district's administrative assistant's position by electing Cristan Martin to a 210 day contract. Kay Adams was elected to fill the cafeteria slot at the Deer campus.
The board also added 30 days to Sheila Reynolds contract and added additional duties to her current position as elementary secretary/ bus driver. The board was scheduled to meet next at 6;30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the Mt. Judea campus.
