MT. JUDEA — The Deer-Mt. Judea School Board met Tuesday, July 7, in a closed executive session to discuss personnel. In open session, the board tabled hiring of a principal for the Mt. Judea campus. The vacancy was created when Brenda Napier was promoted from principal to superintendent. The board approved hiring Robert McBryde as the Deer School basketball coach.
According to the school district's website, the Mt. Judea graduation will be held Saturday, July 18, at 10 a.m. Deer graduation will be July 18, at 7 p.m.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced last week that the start of the state’s school year would be delayed from Aug. 13 until Aug. 26 at the latest to give districts more time to prepare for the safety measures and other changes needed because of COVID-19.
