North Arkansas College will host their Northark Summer Movie Series again this year. The first showing will be a dusk, around 8:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 6 at the Bill Baker Amphitheatre on Northark’s South Campus with Disney’s Cinderella. Attendees will receive a free movie and free popcorn this year. Families are encourage to attend.

Dr. Rodney Arnold, executive director of the Northark Foundation said, “The foundation is pleased to host these movies as a summertime activity for Harrison and the surrounding counties.” It is with the support of sponsors, that movies free of charge and even free popcorn can be offered, added Arnold. Arnold says the college’s goal is to make this a free community event and allow people to become more familiar with the college.

There will be lots of fun events for kids prior to show-time. Cinderella will be attending in person and will be hosting free carriage rides. Rides and photos with Cinderella begin at 6 p.m. A children’s costume contest will begin at 7:45 p.m.; kids are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Cinderella character.

Concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, cotton candy, pizza, nachos, popcorn, shaved ice, and other snacks are available. Proceeds are used to support student organizations or other selected charitable causes.

Movies will be held on Saturday evenings in June through September. Dates will be announced three weeks before the movie.

In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown in Pioneer Pavilion.

The event is presented by Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau and a host of area businesses and individuals.
