Wonder Boys remain ranked third in latest NCAA Regional Rankings

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - On Wednesday, the NCAA released its final regional rankings for Division II baseball ahead of the official selections that are slated for this coming Sunday night (May 12). In the rankings, the Arkansas Tech baseball team remained ranked third.

The Wonder Boys are one of four teams from the Great American Conference in the rankings and are the top-ranked club from the GAC. Behind Tech at No. 6 is Arkansas-Monticello followed by Harding at No. 7 and Southern Arkansas at No. 9.

A pair of MIAA teams are ahead of the Wonder Boys in the rankings with Central Missouri being No. 1 and Missouri Southern being No. 2. The MIAA also has Central Oklahoma (No. 5) and Pittsburg State (No. 8) ranked.

In addition to the GAC and MIAA teams in the rankings, the NSIC has two teams in the rankings with Augustana being No. 4 and Minnesota State being No. 10.

The Wonder Boys are currently 35-16 overall and are the No. 2-seed GAC Tournament. After winning their best-of-three series earlier this week against No. 7-seed Ouachita Baptist, the Wonder Boys have advanced to the four-team, double-elimination portion of the tournament which is taking place at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Ark. this weekend.

The Wonder Boys' first opponent is No. 3-seed Harding. Their game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start on Thursday, May 9.
