SEARCY — The Arkansas Tech baseball team took to the road on Tuesday afternoon to play a non-conference game against No. 26-ranked Harding. Tech would lose the game 9-7.
In the game, Tech jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a RBI double from Cole Dawson. Prior to that, Tyler Sardelli led the game off with a walk. The Bisons got that run back in the second, but Tech struck for four runs on six hits in the top of the third to go up 5-1.
Five of those hits came in succession at the start of the inning. Simon Murray led off with a single to left and was followed by a single from Christian Olea. Sawyer Duddleston then doubled home Murray and moved Olea to third. Brendyn Bard continued the hit parade with a RBI single to right. That prompted a pitching change by Harding.
Out of the change, the hits continued as Kolby Webb singled to center to drive in Duddleston. Three batters later, the Wonder Boys got their sixth hit and fourth run scoring on a double by Sardelli.

Neither team scored in the fourth, but Tech plated a run in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead. The run that inning was a RBI single from Sardelli that drove in Drew Vega, who led off with a single to right.
The Bisons would answer in their half of the fifth with a pair of two-out RBI hits to make it a 6-3 game. Harding then added a run in the sixth, but a run by Tech in the top of the seventh to push their lead back out to three runs.
Unfortunately, Harding had an major answer in their half of the seventh as they scored five runs to flip the game in their favor by two, 9-7. That proved to be the decisive measure in the game as Harding would go on to win by that score.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for a road series at Southern Nazarene this weekend. The three-game set is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
