Congratulations to our grandson Dalton Heffley who is engaged to Kaylie Middleton and they have set the date for Nov. 14. Congratulations to our neighbors, Marshal and Hallie Pettis who are expecting their third child in the spring. Barbara Watson and Shelly Brandenburg are the grandmothers.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Dolen Stepp of Fallsville. He was a lifetime resident and worked in the timber industry.
Congratulations to the Deer Boys Golf team. It participated in the finals at Lead Hill. Easton Cantrell will go to state competition. Congratulations to Karley and Kole Willis on placing third in the district fair show competition. Congratulations to Nathan Windel on being named Deer’s teacher of the month!
We visited with our neighbors Ron and Sue May. Both have been doing much better, but are moving to Springdale soon and we will miss them very much. They are wonderful neighbors, but we understand the importance of being closer to your family and doctors. They brought us KFC when we got home from the hospital. Johnny Martin had his heart surgery, but his healing has been slower than he expected. He wants to get back to work. A big thank you to Kathy and Ralph Graves for their visit and bringing us food.
Kenneth Ogden is back home and doing better, but he is taking it easy for awhile. Rocky Martin has been through it with getting his back pain fixed, but his visits to Little Rock has helped. He said he actually got to stretch himself out and he hadn’t been able to do that for a while. Ms. Phyllis Ellis is in rehab after another broken bone and we are praying for her speedy recovery. We continue to pray for Lunnie Smith, Bob Flud and Sheala’s dad.
Deer Booster Club will host the Annual Fall Festival Nov. 7, 6-8 p.m.
Janie and Marty Edgmon held their annual fish fry at Mossville and it was well attended by lots of families and friends.
The fall tourists are already touring these mountains although the colors aren't at best yet here on the mountain. The motorcycles have been nonstop by our house this past weekend. So be careful! Be blessed and be safe!
