The Ozark Mountain School District will meet in special session at the Bruno-Pyatt Elementary School at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 30. The board members will have a work session to develop a superintendent hiring rubric. Superintendent Jeff Lewis recently announced he is resigning from the school district effective June 30.
Harrison School District announce last week it has hired Lewis, a seasoned educator and coach with 28 years of experience, to its athletic department. Beginning next year, Coach Lewis will lead the 8th and 9th grade Girls' Basketball teams and assist the Lady Goblins Varsity squad. He will also coach junior high track in the spring.
Coach Lewis brings a wealth of experience to the Harrison team. He spent 21 years coaching at Jasper, leading teams in basketball, baseball, track, golf, softball, and cross country for both junior and senior high students. He served as the High School Principal for 10 years at Jasper. His coaching career began at DeValls Bluff, where he coached the boys' basketball team. Most recently, Coach Lewis has served as the Superintendent of Schools at Ozark Mountain School District the past four years.
Coach Lewis holds an Associate Degree from NAC and a Bachelor's, Master's, and Superintendent Certification from the University of Central Arkansas.
