Next fish fry at senior center is Aug. 2

The next drive through or dine in fish fry at the Newton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center in Jasper is set for Friday, Aug. 2, from 2-5 p.m. The meal costs $11 and includes: Hand breaded fried fish or chicken strips, coleslaw, pinto beans, hushpuppies, pickled green tomatoes and peach crisp.
Meals at the center are offered to seniors for a $4 donation, Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. All meals include 8 ounces of 2% milk. No age limit customers and carry out meals cost $6.
Menu July 25-30
Thursday - Shrimp, French fries, coleslaw, hushpuppies and ambrosia.

Friday - Chopped steak, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, seasoned greens, wheat roll and glazed angel cake.
Monday - Beef taco casserole, shredded lettuce, roasted corn and black beans and banana gelatin whip.
Tuesday - Turkey Tetrazzine, Tuscan blend vegetables, wheat roll and fruit medley.
Wednesday - Pepper steak, mashed potatoes, oriental vegetables, whole wheat roll and mandarin oranges.
