On Friday, Oct. 11, the Newton County Animal Welfare held their 5th spay/neuter clinic with Fido Fixers. Over 30 animals received care. One of the purposes of the NCAW is to increase awareness of animal overpopulation, and to provide and promote low cost spay/neuter and vaccine programs. To date 148 animals have been spayed/neutered.
The group has held 2 vaccination clinics treating over 30 animals. There will be no more clinics until spring 2025.
Nearing a year since the group was formed, NCAW greatly appreciates the support of county residents & businesses. Donations of cash, pet food, kennels, and other pet supplies are always needed and appreciated, said Darlene Cullen, NCAW secretary.
