Marion man pleads guilty to AG threat, must apologize

Posted

In August 2024, the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division after a threatening message was sent to Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin through his office’s Facebook Messenger account on July 26, 2024.
Based on the investigation, ASP Agents obtained an arrest warrant for Jeffrey Roger Pyzocha, 39, of Flippin.
On Sept. 5, 2024, Pyzocha was taken into custody in Mountain Home and charged with First-Degree Terroristic Threatening and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center.
On Feb. 13, 2025 a plea statement was filed for the case in Marion County Circuit Court. Under the plea, he will receive 24 months probation for terroristic threatening — a Class D Felony. A condition of the plea is that Pyzocha is required to submit an apology to his victims. The agreement also stated that he can be permitted to have his cell phone returned to him.

According to the affidavit filed for his warrant in September 2024, Pyzocha used his Facebook account to submit a message to the attorney general's Facebook page. The message contained expletives, called Griffin a "bigot" and stated "you're dead" alongside a skull and crossbones emoticon.
The receiving Facebook page is one that is controlled and monitored by various employees within the Arkansas Attorney General's Office, to include Attorney General Griffin. An apology issued by Pyzocha will address those individuals.
While looking through Pyzocha's Facebook data, investigators observed "many comments on political posts and derogatory comments being made toward political officials."
