Posted

LITTLE ROCK — Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders today selected Lindsay Wallace to serve as Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Wallace has served as Chief of Staff at the Department since August of 2020.
Governor Sanders met with Arkansas Board of Corrections Chairman Benny Magness yesterday afternoon and also spoke with each member of the Board of Corrections.
“The safety of all Arkansans is my priority. I have a responsibility as Governor to ensure our Department of Corrections operates under qualified leadership. I know that Lindsay has the experience to lead the Department and will work diligently to expand prison capacity and end the failed policy of catch and early release.” said Governor Sanders.
“It is an honor to be selected by Governor Sanders to lead this Department and enact her bold vision for Arkansas’ corrections system. Throughout my years in criminal justice work, I’ve seen how the status quo has failed crime victims, failed public safety, and failed our state. I am committed to working with all stakeholders, the Governor, the legislature, and Board of Corrections to ensure we fix our corrections system. I’m glad the Governor has put her trust in me to do so,” said Lindsay Wallace.
