Scraps created when we make quilts can sometimes seem excessive, so learning ways to make use of those pieces can be useful. Scrap quilts are quilts, usually pieced, that are made from a wide variety of fabrics, in various colors and designs. The quilt may be made from one block design or different designs. In general, a scrap is a leftover piece of fabric that is too small, on its own, to be used in another project by itself. The size of something that is considered useful may vary from seamstress to seamstress, but in general there are a few rules of thumb that can qualify a scrap for everyone.
