The monthly meeting of the Compton Volunteer Fire Association was canceled due to weather and sickness. The board will meet on Monday, February 10, at 6 p.m. at the County Line Baptist Church.
Our volunteer EMS workers were called out to a couple of homes in the community this past week. We are so fortunate to have our little volunteer fire department and first responders. We appreciate them so much.
The weather caused several of the area schools to be called off for a few days. We didn’t have church at New Hope on Sunday due to the side roads and parking lots being slick. From the sound of the forecast, we are facing some very cold temperatures. I have plugged in the water bowl for our chickens so the water won’t freeze. Our hens are still laying pretty well right now, but may take a little break when it gets cold for a few days.
