1A schools compete in state track Kingston, Lead Hill finish in top 10

QUITMAN — In a state track meet that took a week to finish because of weather, Kingston’s boys finished sixth overall in the Class 1A State Track Meet.
The event was moved from Gurdon to Quitman after lightning had struck equipment at Gurdon last week.
Founders Classical won the event with 114 points. Earle was second with 80, Lafeyette County third, 71; Mineral Springs, fourth, 53; and Strong-Huttig, fifth, 49.
Kingston was next with 35.5 points and Lead Hill was 10th with 24.5. Omaha claimed a 22nd spot with 6 points.
Kingston
Kingston placed in eight events with three of those being relays.
The team earned eight points with a second place finish in the 4X800M Relay. The Yellow Jackets ran the race in 9:30.62. They were fourth in the 4X400M Relay in 3:57.51.
Kingston had seventh place finish in the 4X200M Relay. They finished in 1:43.99.
Ty Floyd had the highest individual finish for the Yellow Jackets. He ran the 300 M Hurdles in 45:08 for second place.
Owen Luneau tied for third in the High Jump. He had a leap of 5-10.00.
Caleb Parker placed in two events. He was sixth in the Long Jump with a leap of 19-05.25. He was seventh in the Triple Jump with a 38-03.50 jump.
Tag Villines rounded out the scoring with a seventh-place throw in the Shot Put. He had a toss of 36-07.00.

Lead Hill
Lead Hill had a pair of Tigers that placed in two events.
Nolan Turner had a tie for third place in the High Jump with a leap of 5-10.00. He was fifth in the 110M Hurdles. He finished the race in17.63.
Tyler Franco had a fourth place finish in the 800M Dash. He finished in 2:16.13. He finished the 1600 M Run in 4:59.24 for fifth place.
Coda Lemon was sixth in the 400M Dash in 56.00.
Dawson Lively was seventh in the Discus with a toss of 98-11.00.
The school’s 4X200M Relay team was eighth in 1:45.06.
Omaha
Omaha finished in the top eight in three events.
Tyler Liggett was sixth in the Triple Jump with a leap fo 39-01.00. He was seventh in the Long Jump. He recorded an 18-08.50.
Jonathan McKinney was eighth in the Pole Vault with a 9-00.00 leap.
