It was Senior Night at Jasper on Friday night. One home team left happy and the other left with a loss.
The Jasper senior boys defeated Norfork, 64-53, while the Lady Pirates fell to Norfork, 58-33.
The Jasper Pirates finished the regular season with a 13-17 record after claiming a 64-53 win over Norfork.
Jasper took control of the game in the first period. The Pirates managed a 20-12 lead after the first 8 minutes of play.
The Pirates added four more points to its lead in the second frame. Jasper led 33-21 at halftime.
Norfork won the third period by two points to make it a 10 point contest, 42-32, with a quarter left.
Leading Jasper in scoring was Caleb Carter with 20 points. Chance Pruitt added 14, Garrett McDonald 10, Laythan Collins nine, Logan Reynolds four, Evan Brasel and Warren Clark three each and Mason Kellogg one.
After an overtime contest in the finals of the North Arkansas College Senior Girls Invitational Tournament, the Norfork Lady Panthers made adjustments and downed Jasper, 58-33.
The third period turned out to be the difference for the Lady Pirates. Jasper trailed, 28-22, at intermission. However, the home team could only manage eight points in the third frame and three points in the fourth.
Norfork led 44-30 entering the last frame.
Leading Jasper in scoring was Kara Flud with eight points. Sierra Johnson and Leah Shellnut added five each, Hope Brasel four, Taylor Belle Davidson three and Molly Waters two.
