Josia Mae Lee Cooper, 84, of Jasper, died Friday, Feb. 26 (2016), at her home. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper. Funeral  will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29,  at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Sherman Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Bunk and Iva May (Farmer) Canady was born on June 29, 1931 at Hasty.

She was a homemaker and loved gardening, raising chickens and quilting. She was a member of the Mt. Sherman Assembly of God Church and had lived most of her life in Newton County.

Josia was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cooper; two sons, David Carter and Tim Jiminez; two daughters, Susan Ladner and Mary Mansker; a grandson, Robert Carter; a brother, Velmer "Brother"; three sisters, Laura Jane, Dorothy and Kathy.

Survivors are her children, Rocky Carter, Gary Cooper, Johnny Cooper and Shelia Villines all of Jasper,, Patsy Rollinson of Western Grove, Laura Carter of Viola, Ruth McLeod of Doniphan, Mo., and Loleta McCollough of Dexter, Mo.; a sister, Nola Way of Houston, Texas; 26 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joe Carter, Kelly Rollinson, Roger Tucker, Ronnie Long, James Carter, Johnny Carter, Tyler Villines, Wayne Rollinson, Doug Mooney, Daniel McLeod, David Carter, Lynn Sauceda, Mark Cassanova and Rodney Mansker.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Jimmy Justice.
