Jolena Marie Stockebrand, 97, of Marshall, died Wednesday,  Nov. 30 (2016) at Highland Court Nursing and Rehab in Marshall. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall with Jim Arnold, Jr., and Rodney Stromlund officiating.  Special music will be performed by Phillip Presson and  Jim and Diane Arnold.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m in the Chapel at Marshall.  Burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery in Hasty.  A meal for friends and family will be served at Rock Haven Bible Camp following the burial.

Jolena was born Sept. 8, 1919 in Rocky Ford, Colo., to John William Stockebrand and Hazel Bell (St. John) Stockebrand.  She  graduated from Yates Center High School in 1937. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from John Brown University in Siloam Springs in 1941.

After college, Jolena worked years as a line-o-operator for the Rock Island Railroad in Chicago, Ill.   After retiring from Rock Island in 1950,  she was commissioned by Moody Church in Chicago as a missionary to North Arkansas Gospel Mission (aka Rock Haven) in Hasty where she served the rest of her life..

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Jr., and  Archie Stockebrand, and a sister, Patty Taylor.

Survivors include Hilda Baab, her ministry co-laborer of Marshall; a brother-in-law, Duane Taylor, of Yates Center, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Bunny Stockebrand of Badger, Calif.;  numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Weaver, Kermit Lowery, David Day, Tim Bartlow, James Horton and Niagle Ratchford.

Honorary pallbearer will be Erling Damgaard.
