Operation Ice Pick: 12 sentenced for drug trafficking

HOT SPRINGS — Conner Eldridge, United States Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, and Blake Batson, Prosecuting Attorney for the Ninth East Judicial District, announced today that 12 defendants have been sentenced for charges brought as a result of Operation Ice Pick. Operation Ice Pick was a 2011 and 2012 investigation by federal and local law enforcement into drug-trafficking activity in Gurdon, Arkansas, and the surrounding area, including Arkadelphia and Malvern. The operation led to a total of 23 individuals being charged in August and September 2012. The Honorable Susan O. Hickey handed down the federal sentences in district court in Hot Springs.
